CONSTITUTION PARTY NOMINATES RON PAUL

FOR PRESIDENT

Today February 4th, in Springfield, Oregon, the Constitution Party selected Congressman Ron Paul, Texas, to be the party’s 2012 Presidential nominee.

The nomination of Congressman Paul for the office of President was accompanied by a nomination of Art Robinson, Cave Junction, for Representative in Congress, Oregon's 4th District.

Oregon Constitution Party vice-chairman Bob Ekstrom, in making the motion to nominate said, "Congressman Paul is the best hope for Americans who want decisive action on the national debt now, not later. His policies will shrink the size of the federal government but increase freedom for citizens in their everyday lives. That is precisely what most people want but cannot obtain from the nation's establishment leaders."

In nominating Mr. Robinson, Chairman Jack Brown pointed to Art Robinson's, "strong campaign founded on constitutional principles two years ago."

More nominations are planned for other offices at a later date.

The Constitution Party of Oregon believes that principles of justice and constitutional authority should be the baseline for citizens deciding how to use their vote rather than party loyalty or personal advantage.

Dear Fellow Pro-Lifers,

Many of us are painfully aware of the innocent slaughter of human beings that takes place everyday in our state through the practice of abortion. But what not all of us may be aware of is that here in Oregon, our tax dollars go to fund that slaughter.1/3 of abortions that take place in Oregon are publicly-funded.

Thankfully, a group of pro-life citizens, the Oregon 2012 Petition Committee, has banded together to stand against this abominable misuse of taxpayer dollars. The objective of the Oregon 2012 Petition Committee is to place a ballot measure on the Oregon ballot in November 2012 that would end state-funding of abortions. The Oregon 2012 Petition Committee has organized a well-thought strategy to achieve this end, and part of that strategy involves you, friends of the unborn. Before the formal signature gathering process can begin, 1,000 initial "sponsor" signatures must be first obtained. Oregon 2012 is achieving this goal by hosting "signing parties" throughout the state.

You are welcomed to pass this information on, but only to those who are sympathetic to the pro-life cause and who you feel would support this ballot measure. Oregon 2012 is wanting to keep information about this ballot measure from the opposition as long as possible.

For Christ and for Liberty,

Joel Fischer

JUST SAY NO TO RANDOM ROADSIDE STOPS

It used to be that Oregon law enforcement personel conducted random roadside sobriety checks. For a reason or maybe no reason at all motorists would be pulled over, and asked to show their license, registration, and Insurance documents. Sometimes a motorist would need to stand on one foot for awhile before being released to continue on their way. The public was unhappy with this policy. In 1987 the Oregon Supreme Court ruled such stops were unConstitutional - a violation of the 4th Amendment of the right of the people to not be subject to "unreasonable searches and seizures".
So now we have a move by Oregon Representative Andy Olson, Republican-Albany to amend the Oregon Constitution and create a power that would allow random stopping of motorists.

There are foundation stones in the house of LIBERTY. On one of those stones is inscribed the rule that says government may not detain citizens without just cause. Rep. Andy Olson wants to change the words on that stone.

If this upsets you as much as it does me then you should raise your voice in opposition.
